𝑰𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔 “𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔”
My passion for creating skincare comes from my love of working with plants and the therapeutic results they provide.
I have vivid childhood memories picking wild honeysuckle, snapdragons and cactus blooms in the desert hills of the valley. Fuchsia bougainvillea creating shade over the pergola, eucalyptus-scented drives to Santa Barbara with my mom. Pulling ivy to make holiday wreaths with fresh cut cedar and pine. Cutting aloe from the yard for a sunburn, drying dandelion and chamomile flowers for tea. My entire life has been shaped and inspired by my connection to nature and plants.
Sustainably sourced lamanaria, brown and red alginates can be used as stabilizers, emulsifiers, hydrators, firming agents, pollutant detoxifiers, and anti-inflammatory components in skincare. Their leaf structure is similar to land plants, but doesn't need fresh water or space to grow like trees. Some kelp can grow up to 2 feet per day. These are things I think about as an intentional skincare brand founder and someone who participates in a trillion dollar industry trying to leave a small, but impactful footprint. These are ingredients I choose to use for myself and my clients.
We rely on plants for food, oxygen, medicine, beauty. Our connection to them is sacred and necessary. I challenge you to think about how plants have shaped your childhood memories and lives.
